Traditional ways to get a Kentucky Teaching Certification

  1. Complete college and get an accredited degree
  2. Get some experience in the classroom. KY requires this - even if it is unpaid such as student teaching
  3. Pass the Principles of Learning & Teaching Test (PLT) and the Praxis II (subject area)
  4. Submit the following:
    • Completed Application
    • $50 Check/money order payable to Kentucky State Treasurer
