Alternative Approach for the Montana Teacher Certification

Alternatively, you can earn the Montana Teaching Certification to teach in Montana before you complete the teacher education program.  

  1. Obviously you must still earn your Bachelors Degree from an accredited university. Ideally, you should always continue your education in efforts to earn a Master’s degree.
  2. $24 fee payable to Montana office of Public Instruction
  3. Submit fingerprints and background check
  4. Provided official transcripts
  5. Fill out and complete the Alternative Teaching License Forum
  6. Be hired by the Montana school district to earn semester credits
