Can I teach while getting my certification?

It depends. In general you need to have your certificate beforey ou get your own classroom. If you're doing a teach-to-america or similar program, then yes. There are other exceptions and many times in high-needs areas. Check for states that are having problems hiring and you may find they allow that.

Another option is subbing. Many districts will allow you to substitute teaching. You still need a college degree though. Again, the needier the district, the more likely you'll be able to teach or sub while on the path to getting your certificaiton.
